A story about Global Latitude’s Andile Mthembu and his path to creating full-length feature films without training or investment, has featured in The Meander Chronicle, a local KZN Midlands newspaper.

Andile assists us with corporate video production services and stock video creation and administration, but the story about how he dreamt of making his own movies and how he’s managed to accomplish many of those goals is truly inspirational.

By using borrowed cameras, actors and crew that work for free, Andile has produced five isiZulu films so far that he sells on DVDs in his home town of Richmond. His self-written scripts often feature social issues that affect his local rural community.

As The Meander quotes Global Latitude’s Alistair Cotton in the article: “Here was a guy from Richmond making movies, with no training and no budget to talk of. If someone can achieve so much with so little, just imagine what he could achieve with just a little backing. I thought, this is the kind of guy I want in my business.”
